Originally from Newfoundland, I moved to Nova Scotia in 2001 and am now as deeply rooted as most Haligonians. (Thus the name Newfi-gonian)
It was with great pride on September 26, 2011 that I officially became a member of the Qalipu Mi’Kmaq First Nation Band. While we are a landless band we currently have a membership of 21,429. It is anticipated that the final membership numbers could result in the new Band being the largest aboriginal band in Canada. The belief of First Nations people is that if you take something from the earth you must give back. This is in my view, a wise way to live.
I absolutely love working with clients and love helping them sell as well as find homes. I am experienced in new construction, resale, residential, and multi-family and am available.
I believe in honest, hard work and providing excellent results.
My diverse educational background is an asset that helps to get the result you want.
This is where it began and what I have accomplished:
I grew up on the west coast of rural Newfoundland in a family of eleven. At age 18, I enrolled in the Bachelor of Education Program at Memorial University and studied to be a teacher. Since leaving high school, I completed a Criminology certificate and my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/psychology. I moved to Nova Scotia on a promotion with Canada Post, and then took a three year hiatus to go back to university. (I retired from Canada Post after 20 years of service) I have taken courses in Public relations at Mount Saint Vincent University and completed an advanced diploma in Human Resources Management at the Nova Scotia Community College.
While working at Canada Post I raised my two daughters, Ophelia who is now a successful Environmental Scientist (in Winnipeg) and Rebecca, a successful Massage Therapist (at3 locations with Classic Physiotherapy in Halifax).
My children are grown, I have the most amazing husband, Russ, whom I love dearly and nowI have the time, knowledge, conviction, and enthusiasm to ensure you have a successful and happy real-estate experience.
My husband, Russ owns and operates his own Law firm while developing his practice solely in Real-Estate. Parkland law is a three-lawyer firm. Check his website out www.parklandlaw.ca
My office is located at Parkland Law as well. Having my office located here provides my clients with convenient location, free parking, and city bus stop in front of building, conference room, reception and modern technologies.
